Bert A. Sander, 52, died November 16, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born May 13, 1956 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Gilbert F. and Kathleen (Rajewski) Sander. He was a roughneck in the oilfield and worked with heating and air conditioning in maintenance. He enjoyed gardening and making rosaries. He lived in Great Bend most of his life. Mr. Sander was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, Great Bend. Survivors include one daughter: Stephanie Ham, Wichita, Kansas; one granddaughter: Haily O'Donald; parents: Gilbert and Kathleen Sander, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister: Debbie Ann Sander, Walker, Ontario, Canada; three brothers: Glen Allen Sander, Great Bend, Kansas; Mark Alden Sander, Gulfport, Mississippi; and Kirk Andre Sander, Great Bend, Kansas. He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Yvonne Amy Sander; and grandparents: Frank and Agnes Sander and Leo and Anna Rajewski, both of Victoria, Kansas. A vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2008 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Father Reginald A. Urban. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association for Research, in care of the funeral home.
