Barbara Bushnell, 91, entered into eternal rest at Sterling House Fairdale, Salina, Kansas. She was born September 9, 1919 south of Great Bend in Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of Roscoe Paul and Nina Pearl (Batchman) Moore. She was a Great Bend High School graduate. Mrs. Bushnell married Owen R. Bushnell October 5, 1945 at Wellington, Kansas. He died July 22, 1989. A lifetime Great Bend resident, living in Salina since August 2008, Mrs. Bushnell was a homemaker. Mrs. Bushnell was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and a more than fifty-year member of Order of Eastern Star Golden Sheaf Chapter 226, both of Great Bend. Survivors include two nephews: John R. Cooper, Salina, Kansas; and Robert Cooper, Tulsa, Oklahoma; one niece, Cris Polkinhorn, Reno, Nevada; six great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, June Cooper. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Great Bend Cemetery. The Reverend Stan Crawford will officiate. Memorials are requested to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
