Barbara A. Ater, 70, died November 21, 2009 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, Kansas. She was born August 10, 1939 at Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Doris (Cole) Wilson. She married Dale E. Ater April 27, 1958 at Pawnee Rock, Kansas. He died October 25, 2005. A lifetime resident of Shaffer, Mrs. Ater was a bookkeeper for Dale's Refrigeration and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ater was a member of First Christian Church, Pawnee Rock. Survivors include one son: Allen D. Ater, Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters: Jeanette Corbett, Ellinwood, Kansas; and Teresa Ater, Bunker Hill, Kansas; three brothers: Bill Wilson, Hays, Kansas; Keith Wilson, Wichita, Kansas; and Randy Wilson, Larned, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family to receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are requested to the Albert Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
