Anna "Dora" Hayes, 91, died October 19, 2008 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born December 10, 1916 at Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Julia (Schminke) Schrepel. She married Albert V. Hayes March 30, 1941 at Great Bend. He died November 25, 1994. A homemaker, Mrs. Hayes was a lifetime Great Bend resident. Mrs. Hayes was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Sunnyside Unit, all of Great Bend. Survivors include two sons: Vernon Hayes and wife, Karen, Great Bend, Kansas; and Jerry Hayes and wife, Rita, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister: Ella Mae McCandles, St. John, Kansas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Patricia Hayes; one brother, Alvin Schrepel; and two sisters, Florence Gaunt and Lola Pope; and two infant grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Gary Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are requested to First United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
