Alfrieda E. Hess, 96, died June 13, 2010 at Golden Living Center, Fredonia, Kansas. She was born February 28, 1914 at Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Anthony C. and Christina (Hitschmann) Hess. Miss Hess was a longtime Fredonia resident. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include three nephews: Martin Conway, Aledo, Illinois; Michael Conway, Chicago, Illinois; and Randy Hess, Denver, Colorado; and one niece, Pamela (Hess) Murray, Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Urban Hess and Ernest Hess; and one sister, Marie Conway. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin, Kansas. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Holy Family Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
