Alfred L. Richardson, 74, died January 29, 2011 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. He was born June 1, 1936 at Long Island, Kansas, the son of Herbert and Mae (Lockwood) Richardson. He married Georgia Seigler March 24, 1958 at Hoisington. A lifetime Hoisington resident, Mr. Richardson was a roughneck in the oilfield and after retiring was an animal control officer in Hoisington and did various other jobs. Mr. Richardson was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Richardson, of the home; one son, Charlie Richardson and wife Becky, Hoisington; three daughters: Mona Hullett and husband Larry, Hoisington; Susan Richardson, Hoisington; and Lisa Smith and husband Lorn, Wichita, Kansas; two sisters: Dorothy Boeck and Ilda Orndorf; fifteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darrell Richardson; one brother, Sonny Richardson; and four sisters, Viva, Virginia, Maxine, and Norma. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hoisington Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the Alfred Richardson Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
