Alan D. Riedl, age 52, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington, Kansas. He was born May 23, 1961 at Kirksville, Missouri the son of Jon Dee and Norma Jean (Alger) Riedl. Alan grew up in Salina and graduated from Salina South High School. He has been a Hoisington resident since the mid 1990's. Alan worked for Kansas Brick and Tile for several years and later was a delivery driver for Pizza Hut in Great Bend. He enjoyed computers and his cat, snowball. Survivors include his mother, Norma Jean Penry and her husband Ike of Hoisington; his father, Jon Dee Riedl and wife Elaine of Brighton, Colorado; one brother, Jon D. Riedl and wife Jamie of Hillrose, Colorado; one sister, Beth Greene and partner Pam Fleming of Viola, Kansas, and one half-sister, Jennifer Obey and husband Bobby of Aurora, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. There will be no services or public visitation as cremation has taken place.
